Despite Moscow’s Russian motifs, Petersburg has always resembled a European city with its buildings, architecture and city plan. Being the 4th largest city in Europe, it draws attention. Saint Petersburg served as the tsarist capital for many years and its name was changed many times. The city is geographically located on the islands of the Neva River.
