History
New Russian University was established in 1990 and has evolved into a recognized effective institution according to monitoring results by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The university is included in the National University Rankings by the Interfax Information Group and became a member of the IREG Rating International Expert Group. RosNOU ranks among the top 200 universities in Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, and among Russia’s hundred best universities according to Expert RA. It ranked first in Forbes magazine’s Russian university rankings and entered the Round University Ranking (RUR) list of world’s best universities in technical sciences. Vladimir Alekseevich Zernov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, currently heads the university. From 1999 to 2012, Professor Sergey Petrovich Kapitsa supervised the university’s scientific activities. RosNOU operates 20 scientific schools, 10 external research activities, and 4 internal research projects. The university holds 15 patents and ranks among Russia’s top five universities by international science indicators. Over 25 years, RosNOU has produced more than 45,000 graduates.
